MACKINAW HOUSE

Mackinaw City, MI | 2016 - 2017

In this house, a low band of windows is oriented to views of the lake and the bridge, while a high band of windows brings in southern light. An open truss or wind tower in the center stabilizes the wood structure and allows light and view to fill the full volume of the house. A series of stepped rooms fill the volume of the gable and negotiate the slope down to the water.
